Arms and Armour Scans
These scans were made at 600dpi for black and white, and 450dpi for colour. The full size files are very large photos, so you will not be able to view them all at once unless you use a graphics program to zoom out, not will you be able to print real-size unless you have a fancy printer.
Convention for filenames is "Origin_Type_Date.jpg". Origin may be owner, maker, or location if the former two are not known. Type may use several words, either as one, or separated by underscores, depending on what I felt like doing.
Unfortunately, the book I got these scans from has gone back to the library, before I got around to tidying them up and putting them on here, and I forgot to write the reference down. If there is interest, I can find out at a later date.
I have seen several of these pieces before, but never at such a large and available size, which is why I thought them worthy of repeats. Some are here because of beauty of workmanship[, while others are of interest in the construction, and yet others are just plain interesting.
I believe these images should be public domain, but they probably aren't. If anyone wishes me to remove them, please contact me at bladesmith@clear.net.nz and I will be happy to oblige.
Hope you enjoy,
